8/4 - Quarantine: Going home

Since this week is a bit shorter than the others, and we have some models that need to be ready to animate on Tuesday, I’ve had to have discussions with the character artists about their progress and ability to finish their models in time. The character artist responsible for our player model is worried that she won’t finish on time, and will have to work through the Easter weekend.

My solution was pretty simple. We have one person who is going to rig all the models, and if he does her model last, it’s okay if she’s done by Wednesday. Alternatively, she can work Friday, which technically isn’t a work day, and take a day off next week instead. Since the inner communications don’t rely on her being there, she can switch what day she has off if she would like, and she is responsible enough to do so without anyone checking up on how much work she’s actually doing.

Since my Monday was cut short I kept planning for the coming week, making sure everything was in order. I had a smaller meeting with both the programming lead and art lead to make sure they were on board with the schedule and to check on their overall progress.

At the end of the day I brought my things home. This is the day, and from the beginning of next week the PSQ building will be closed down. It’s time for isolation.
