Things are moving forward, despite more and more people moving home to work. Things are still settling into place, but we are moving forward.
The artists wanted a background for the world and characters to go from, and there was not much documented, so I decided to write a world building document with some input from Danny, who made the world up. This has been my main focus these two days… Until Hansoft crashed. Again.
With a crashed and inaccessible planning system without any prognosis on when it would be fixed I had to come up with an alternate solution and start from the beginning again. I spent two days re-doing the backlog and setting up the plans for the coming week in Trello. After some hard work it finally feels good, and easy to read.
We’ve also held several meetings about how to proceed with technical things around the mechanics. We have discussed direct damage during a button press vs damage on impact, and what will be easier, what will feel best depending on timing etc. We have limited time and there are a lot of things we’ll have to cut down on to make the overall product as good as it can be, and since I’m in charge of the planning I’ll have to keep an overview of what we can actually include and what has to be put on ice for now.
The distance communication is working so far. We hold meetings over discord and we share a lot of progress work in the channels, especially among the artists. The work is going forward and most people who are at home are working with necessary things. It’s been an okay week, despite the circumstances.
