Home for the past two days means that there has been a lot to keep up with, everything from updates in the planning to organizing of the GDD. We’ve also had some problems with illness from other parts, meaning that some tasks are falling behind. People are so bad at updating Trello, and the communication overall could also be better.
Jumping in to work with sound, since we should get in contact with the sound people soon, and setting up a basic foundation of what kind of sounds we want is the priority right now. We spent the day discussing some sounds, while I also updated the Trello board and schedule from the past two days. The time before lunch was not anything out of the ordinary.
After lunch we had a long and interesting meeting about the clothing and final silhouettes of the characters, where the main character was the longest focus. We had many options and we ended up mixing and matching parts from several of the sketches. We had one idea that everyone was quite fond of, a skull on the belt, but after a while one of the artists thought about the fact that the model won’t be seen from the front, but rather from the top. She meant that the skull might look more like a bulge from that distance and angle and we all agreed. We ended up moving the skull to the hip area, which looked a lot better in the end anyway.
We also decided on a way of getting the animation process going faster, and I rearranged the schedule accordingly. This lessens the pressure on the animators, which is really great. A good end to a low week, hopefully next week will be better.
